Soo Bahk Do
Soo Bahk Do is the name of the martial art founded and taught by Kwan Jang Nim Hwang Kee, his successor Hwang Hyun Chul, known as H.C. Hwang, and instructors who are certified by member organizations of the World Moo Duk Kwan, Inc.
Sa Bom Nim Senkowski
Sa Bom Nim Senkowski began his training with Robert Thompson in Dayton Ohio in 1971. He was part of one of the first studios in the United States; it was started by Robert Thompson after returning from the service in 1960. Sa Bom Nim Senkowski has been involved in martial arts for over 40 years and in 2012 he successfully completed Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa in Ramona California and earned his yuk (6th) Dan ranking. Currently, he actively trains students of all levels in the Dayton area and he continues his personal training under Sa Bom Nim Bennet, who teaches in Flint, Michigan.

Kailyn
Kailyn began practicing Soo Bahk Do at the age of 9 and celebrated her 11th year in the art this fall. Holding the rank of Eel Dan Kailyn has spent many hours training. She became a certified instructor with a specialty in forms at just 12 years of age. She has competed in 12 regional and 2 national competitions. Currently, she is a nursing student at Edison community college and is always seeking opportunities to teach self defense to women and children. She is also certified Zumba instructor and is involved in Pink Ribbon Girls in Dayton, Ohio.
Chad
Chad started in Soo Bahk Do about a year after his daughter Kailyn began practicing. He would sit every night and watch her train or occasionally slip off to the park with her younger sister. After a year of watching her, he decided it was time to join. He could see that it wasn’t just kicking and punching to her, it was part of her life. By joining he was able to not only spend time with his daughters, but also find a way to share something with them that would last a lifetime. He has always enjoyed the fact that his daughter, Kaolin, is his senior. Obtaining Cho Dan (1st degree) midnight blue and Jyo Kyo alongside his daughters makes Soo Bahk Do more than just a martial art in his family. Being able to go with your children, side by side, down a path that shifts because of life’s events and changes but always having an anchor that binds you is incredible; it is not limited by age or ability, but desire, alone.
Kyra
Kyra started Soo Bahk Do at the age of four. She is currently a Cho Dan and a freshman in high school. She is on the JV volleyball, and JV basketball cheerleading squad. Kyra has competed in multiple regional tournaments. She is also involved in Pink Ribbon Girls in Dayton Ohio, Cavs for a cure, and the pro-life club. Kyra also enjoys being a Program Aide for the Girl Scouts and a group leader at Bible Camp.
